LOOT POLICY

All items that drop on guild raids will be distributed by our Loot Council. This council has been formed to distribute loot fairly as well as to distribute it in a way that will make the guild stronger.

The purpose of guild raids is to help our members receive needed items. Ideally, we would like to keep any items from guild raids inside the guild. Meaning, any items you receive on a guild raid are not to be sold for personal gain. If you receive an upgrade to an item you received on a guild raid, it would benefit the guild if you would pass it to someone who could use the item although the guild does not require this.

Guild Raids vs Non-Guild Raids:
Guild Raids are raids scheduled by the War Council to advance the Guild as a whole. Some examples of official Guild Raids are ToV, Plane Raids, and Rotation Raids. All loot that drops during these raids will be awarded by the Loot Council following our Loot Policy. Non-Guild Raids are raids that are scheduled at the request of members to help said member complete a quest or goal, non-epic related. Some examples are Shawl Quests, Ring Quests, and help obtaining certain desired equipment. Loot will be distributed by the member as he/she sees fit to award those who chose to assist. The member may also choose to have the items awarded according to our Loot Policy.

You must be a member of the guild for at least six months before you request the War Council to schedule an Epic Raid. You may ask for assistance from the guild in taking down epic mobs, but do not repeatedly spam guild chat asking for help.

Our loot system is based on “Need Before Greed” aka NBG. This means:
* That the character you bring on a raid will wear/use the item.
* It is an upgrade to the equipment you are currently using.
* The character receiving the item is an active character in the guild.
Our members are entrusted to decide on their own if they can call NBG for an item. Please consider what is best for the guild - if a haste item drops that is all/all use your judgement and realize this item would be of more use on a melee than a caster. Once you have won or been awarded an item on the raid, you will be asked not to roll for any future drops until everyone from your class/armor type has received something.

It will be at the sole discretion of the Loot Council to decide how they will award loot on any given raid. Special consideration will be taken for Epic, Rare, Quest, and Class Specific drops.
* Epic – An item which is used as part of the fulfillment of an epic quest. If a member sets up a raid with the distinct purpose in receiving an epic item, that person will receive it. If an epic item drops during a regularly scheduled guild raid, the Loot Council will decide who will receive the item based on how far into the epic a person is and seniority.
* Rare – Drops that are deemed rare and superior in nature by a member of the Loot Council. An example of rare items are class specific robes, breastplates, and legs. Consideration will be given to seniority and equipment currently being used.
* Quest – Items that are used in completing high end armor quests – such as Thurgadin or Planes armor quests. Consideration will be given based on seniority and equipment currently being used.
* Class Specific Drops – Armor and other class specific weapons and items not considered Rare by the Loot Council will be considered Class Specific drops. Guild participation and need will be used to decide how these items will be awarded.

Primary vs. Secondary Characters:
If you play several characters you will be asked to select one as your primary character and to inform the Loot Council. You will only be allowed to change your primary character once each year on March 1st. Primary characters will always receive consideration for item upgrades over any secondary character on official guild raids sponsored by the War Council. However, if the raid leaders specifically requests that you bring an alternate to a raid, then that character will be treated as your primary for that raid and will be eligible to receive equal consideration for items along with the main characters of that class.

In the event that an item drops, and all 'mains' pass on that item, it will then default to all 'alternate' characters. In the event that the 'alternate' characters pass on the item, invites will be considered for that item.

Any items that are acquired through a guild raid that cannot be used by those attending will be placed into the guild bank. If you participate in the raid and have an active alt that can use the item you can put in a request for that item according to our Guild Bank policies and will receive extra consideration. However, main characters will be considered for upgrades in equipment before any alternates – although guild participation, as well as other factors, will play a part in said decision.

All cash, vendor loot, and gems will go into the guild bank. This will be used to reimburse reagent users and to fund the cost of peridots, emeralds, coffins, and any other expenses from a guild raid.

This policy should mainly be considered a guideline for the Loot Council to use when making loot decisions. There are many factors that are taken into consideration when awarding items; as such, all decisions are made to further advance the guild as a whole.
